Dr. Theodor Strohal is the founder of Strohal Legal, the predecessor of Kisser Legal. He is no longer engaged in the active practice of law, but the standards and direction he established continue to shape the firm.
Dr. Strohal received his Doctor of Law from the University of Vienna in 1974. After several years in private practice, he founded his own firm in 1979, focusing early on international business law. His work led him to long term projects abroad, including Paraguay, and to the establishment of offices in Indonesia in 1989, Singapore in 1996, the United Arab Emirates in 2005, Myanmar in 2012, and Thailand in 2020.
In 2005, upon invitation of the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, he established the first internationally owned legal consultancy in the emirate. The office into a platform for cross border corporate and commercial work in the region.
Throughout his career, Dr. Strohal’s work was business oriented and internationally focused. In Austria, he was active in corporate restructuring and served as trustee appointed by the Commercial Courts of Vienna. Abroad, he advised European and Asian clients on structuring investments and navigating local regulatory and cultural environments. His strength lay in combining legal structure with practical understanding of local conditions.
In addition to his legal career, Dr. Strohal has been active for decades in the Austrian Buddhist Religious Society, contributing to the state recognition of Buddhism in Austria in 1985 and serving for many years as Vice President. He has also lectured on business and intellectual property law at Modul University Dubai and regularly contributed to professional forums and business councils.
Kisser Legal continues the practice founded by Dr. Strohal, building on the international orientation, independence and professional standards he established over several decades.
